Event Recap

MGS Entertainment Show Panel
Held 14–15 November at Galaxy International Convention Center, MGS 2023 delivered a refreshed exhibition and a content-rich summit—capped by a Tecnet Asia discussion on the Philippines’ remote gaming (PIGO) growth story.
After four years away from an in-person format, MGS Entertainment Show made a successful return with a revamped two-day exhibition and summit on 14–15 November at the Galaxy International Convention Center. The new venue—opened earlier this year following COVID-related delays—hosted approximately 3,500 visitors, with 35 exhibitors spread across 4,000 m² of show floor.
Running under the theme “The Asian Pioneer Returns”, the event was led by Jay Chun, Chairman of organizer Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association (MGEMA), and welcomed government dignitaries, representatives from all six Macau concessionaires, and a broad cross-section of industry stakeholders.

Summit highlights
The MGS Summit, organized by Inside Asian Gaming, anchored the program with timely presentations and panels covering market dynamics across Asia:
- Keynote: Kevin Kelley, COO – Macau at Galaxy Entertainment Group, addressed shifting Macau demographics and challenged suppliers to broaden game portfolios: “Only four game themes won’t allow the market to grow,” noting operators will support successful innovation.
- Suppliers’ panel: Representatives from Aristocrat, Interblock, Light & Wonder, and LT Game exchanged views on product development and regional trends.
- AI in gaming: GLI’s Ian Hughes explored artificial intelligence developments and practical use cases for the industry.
- Operators’ panel: Executives from Macau’s six concessionaires discussed the path to diversification. SJM’s Frank McFadden emphasized the need for a broader “visitor experience ecosystem,” highlighting transport, taxi reliability, and premium air travel access as key enablers.
- Academic insight: Professor Wang Changbin (Macao Polytechnic University) examined strategies to broaden Macau’s appeal to new international audiences.
Tecnet Asia on the rise of PIGO
The day concluded with a well-attended Q&A between IAG’s Ben Blaschke and Suat Sirin, President of Tecnet Asia Inc, focusing on the rapid growth of remote gaming in the Philippines, commonly referred to as PIGO (Philippine Inland Gaming Operators). The discussion covered regulatory context, market adoption, and the technology architectures enabling licensed casinos to serve players located within the Philippines via secure online facilities under PAGCOR authorization.

Drawing on Tecnet Asia’s project experience with Manila-based integrated resorts, the session highlighted best practices for platform integration, identity and payments orchestration, risk and AML controls, real-time monitoring, and business continuity—all critical to sustainable, compliant growth.
Networking in Macau
Attendees also joined Inside Asian Gaming’s new social event, The Industry Party, hosted at Oasis at Galaxy Macau—adding valuable networking to an already packed two-day agenda.
